
I grew up on Bent Mountain, Virginia. These watercolors represent the series of paintings I made to reacquaint myself with the mountain landscapes of my childhood. My challenge was to depict the haunting beauty that I remember growing up, while avoiding the clichés so often seen in landscape paintings.
